Yay my second tutorial XD

It's a small tut and step by step through Sai Paint Tool.
I find it quite nice to work with it.

First off, I'm still experimenting with it so I don't know much.
Those are the steps I've did.

1- Have your lineart ready (I've drew it directly in the program, I don't know how to import a lineart yet...) If you do it with Sai, I suggest taking the Ink Pen tool. Much more precise and gives a better finish.

2- Put in the base colors. I use seperate layers for each.
I used the Pen tool for the colors.

3- For this step, I hide all my color layers ans use the Water tool. Creat a new layer and set it to multiply. Then, start to apply your shadows. If you have the sensivity option (tablet) it's working very well to smudge and blend the color. (The reason why I hide the colors is that when it's all white, it's easier to figure out where the shadow should be.)

4- For that part, I put a bg color to see the light colors better. Then, with the Airbrush tool, I apply the ligh parts (hair, skin, etc..)

5- I unhide all my layers and tadah! ^^ Lots of fun!
It took about 5 hours to do that.

Thanks! I'm going to try this on my next page. That looks like a WAY better way to shade my colors.

oooh, fun! i'll have to try shading without colours-- i have a tendency to get distracted and end up with imbalanced shadows... :3

Hey, you sass that hoopy ~alaisiaga? There's a frood who really knows where her towel is.
I colored someone's work, and it all went fine, but I have one little question: I want to invert the colors of a copy of the lineart layer, or, if that's not possible, I want to make all the white on the layer transparent. Do you know how?
o.o; I have sai o.O; it has ink pen? all I ever see x.x is the pen so I always use it.
